“Sneeze particles with virus are going to last a lot longer on a desktop than on somebody’s clothing.”

  • It is recommended to put the dirty clothes worn by a person infected corona virus straight into the washing machine but not in laundry basket mixed with laundry of others.
  • Always wear an apron to protect the clothes we were wearing when doing laundry.
  • Wear mask if you are coughing or sneezing.
  • Doing laundry at 60 degrees or higher leads to cleaner clothes.
  • Adding an extra rinse cycle will also help.
  • Give little extra time for drying clothes in dryer.
  •  Ironing your clothes, particularly with warm steam, provides some benefit.
  •  Avoid wearing delicate clothe during this time which cannot withstand temperatures as high as 60 degrees.
  •  Clothes can be placed in quarantine too. Since we can’t always immediately wash our clothes and our shoes each time we enter the house, placing them in quarantine instead can be an effective alternative.
  • Wash your clothes as you usually do but make sure that you wash your hands.
  • Wear hand gloves to avoid direct touching of buttons on the machine, the handles to open and close the machine.
  • Do not touch your face until you’ve had a chance to clean your hands.”
  • Washing machines may be our savers or helpers when it comes to cleaning clothes, but they should also be disinfected themselves.
  • Do not use too much detergent will create extra foam which will cling to your laundry and attract dirt there. Instead, try for the recommended dosage.
  • Laundry should also not be shaken much.
